We dig in the trash for our jobs
to take out what others have lobbed
We don’t pay a penny
but load up on plenty
So it looks like the dumpster got robbed

The Dollar Store keeps making crap
that shatters before its unpacked
so into the dump
goes boxes of junk
That never gets used or unwrapped

We’re a minute too late, aww shucks!
We just can’t keep up with the trucks
with each dumpster we find
we’re a dumpster behind
We never have this much bad luck!

There once was a magical bin
that sorted what all you tossed in
It ate up the trash
Recycled the glass
And spit out what shouldn’t have been

The landfills are all filling up
The cities abandon the dump
Plastic’s a sham and
Recycling a scam
But luckily we keep making stuff!

There’s a bandaid and somebody’s hair
kitty litter and flies everywhere
Push it all to the side
Down there trying to hide
Is a new in the box Air Fry-air

Behold a new low for the race
A monolith built of disgrace
It’s not the Great Wall
or an American mall
But a mountain of clothes seen from space!

In the dumpsters of towns far away
through treaties and political sway
the US pays cash
to ship them our trash
the Recycling all rots away

As every good story begins
I’m looking through trash in the bins
I could find twenty sweaters
or an old lover’s letters
The thrill of the dive never ends

We’re raising a temple to stuff
the factories churn with a puff
More single use plastic
a disposable casket
So when will enough be enough

This dumpster is full of old pasta
and that one is brimming with salsa
At the dumpster buffet
it is always gourmet
Now all we need is some Lobsta
